Wiggins was 16 years old at the time of the incident and was arrested along with Jamal Armstead after Maurice McIver was shot and killed on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Prosecutors tried to get Armstrong to testify against Wiggins, then tried his case, which ultimately resulted in three mistrials. Hurricane Sandy also contributed to the delay in Wiggins’ trial.
