Olympic Runner Wins Doping Case After 'Kiss' Defense

Olympic gold-medal sprinter Gil Roberts was exonerated of doping violations after an appeals court found "passionate kissing" may explain how the steroid-masking drug probenecid entered his system. So reports The New York Times.

Roberts said kissing his sick girlfriend, Alex Salazar, who was taking sinus medication at the time and testified in his defense, is the reason he failed a drug test.

In 2009, French tennis player Richard Gasquet successfully used a similar defense after he claimed cocaine in his system originated from a woman he met in a Miami nightclub.
