Utah Soda Shops End ‘Dirty’ Fight with Settlement

Utah chains Sodalicious and Swig settled a lawsuit over the sale of sugary “dirty sodas.” So reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

Swig accused Sodalicious of seating their trademarked “dirty” idea, prompting the lawsuit. The terms of the settlement are undisclosed. Swig sued for damages in 2015 and sought an order blocking Sodalicious from using like signs and words.

Sodalicious responded contesting “dirty” is a common moniker not unique to its competitor. Sugar is a popular indulgence in majority-Mormon Utah.
