Family of HS Athlete Killed By Dropped Log at Practice Seeks $15M

The family of teenager Joshua Mileto, who died after a log fell on him during a high school football drill, is suing for $15 million in damages. So reports the Associated Press.

Mileto and four of his teammates were carrying a 400-pound log while practicing with the East Sachem High School football team when it fell on him. The Sachem Central School District and Sachem East Touchdown Club Inc. are named in the lawsuit.

The family’s lawyer alleges the coaching staff was negligent, didn’t properly train the players to run the drill and did not supervise them properly while they executed it.
