Chicago to Shell Out $38.75M to motorists Ticketed for Speeding, Running Lights     

The City of Chicago is set to pay $38.75 million to 1.2 million motorists who received tickets while the city was “illegally” enforcing a red-light ordinance. So reports The Chicago Sun Times.

The settlement will go to the city’s Finance Committee before the full City Council for approval. The class-action settlement was filed by Jacie Zolna and Mike Cherry. Motorists were not given “proper notification” of violations, creating premature liability and sparking the legal action.
