Uber’s Wheelchair Riders Face Discrimination: NYC Lawsuit  

Disability Rights Advocates filed a lawsuit against the ride-hailing company Uber, claiming the company discriminates against New York City riders who require wheelchairs. So reports the Associated Press.

The lawsuit claims although the company offers wheelchair-accessible rides, there are too few to cover the demand. The lawsuit claims that Uber has fewer than 100 wheelchair-accessible vehicles out of its fleet of 58,000 in the city. However, the company said it has almost 200 wheelchair-accessible vehicles in New York City. The suit was filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan.
