Portland Train Slasher Goes on Tirade During Arraignment

Jeremy Joseph Christian, who was charged in the fatal stabbing of two men who intervened when Christian allegedly began shouting religious slurs at women who appeared to be Muslim, was said to have gone on a courtroom tirade yelling about “free speech” during his arraignment. So reports America Online.

Christian was said to have yelled: “Free speech or die, Portland. You got no safe place. This is America - get out if you don't like free speech," while in court. He was charged with three felony murder charges, three felony weapons charges, a felony assault charge, and two counts of intimidation. 

Another man was allegedly stabbed but survived the ordeal. Christian may be charged with a terrorism-related count or a federal hate crime, as well.
