The bill, the Recognizing America's Children Act, would provide a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants brought to the country before they turned 16 and have been in the U.S. since January 1, 2012.
So far the bill has 13 sponsors and co-sponsors. The bill would grant five-year conditional legal residency with the ability to reapply for a five-year permanent status.
