Woman Gets Probation for Creepy Notes to Neighbors

Carrie Pernula, 36, admitted to authoring the note and to having sent her neighbors magazine subscriptions addressed to, among other things, “Tastee Children,” after police linked the subscriptions to her IP address. Pernula, who says she was annoyed at the neighbors’ children for having left items on her porch, pleaded guilty to one count of stalking, a gross misdemeanor. The offense may be dismissed if she successfully completes one year’s probation and pays a $200 fine.
