A lawsuit alleges the rap star Jay Z refused to make appearances promoting his namesake fragrance, Gold Jay Z, but nevertheless collected the guaranteed minimum $2 million royalty provided to him by the company responsible for the product. So reports Bloomberg Business.
Filed in a Manhattan court by the licensing company Perfumania Holdings Inc., the suit claims that, because Jay Z didn’t make time to publicize Gold Jay Z, sales of the fragrance fell last year from a projected $35 million to $6.1 million. Perfumania seeks return of the royalties plus another $16 million in damages.
