Big Firms’ Aversion to Change Could Doom Their Survival

The future of many big law firms is at risk as a result of their commitment to a business model that requires associates to climb a long corporate ladder to partnership. So reports The New York Times.

With partners who are 60 and older controlling a lot of the revenue at those firms and little incentive for associates to stay the course required for partnership, “some law firms could crumble after this generation,” according to some experts on the issues facing big law firms today.
