Ukrainian Model Sues Ex for Sending Her to Jail

A Manhattan judge refused to dismiss the defamation suit of a Ukrainian model who spent a night in jail as a result of her ex-boyfriend’s allegedly false police report. So reports The New York Post.

Michael Hadjedj claimed the model, Christina Matthaus, stole his credit card and went on a shopping spree. The judge held that Matthaus, “met the burden for malicious prosecution and false arrest” because Hadjedj acted “with malice” in reporting her to police. The theft charges against Matthaus, who was once married to the German soccer star Lothar Matthaus, were dropped.

She claims she lost work after the media published the news of her arrest.
