NYC Jury Awards Woman $18M in Sexual Harassment Suit Against Venture Capital CEO

A Manhattan federal court jury awarded $18 million to a Swedish woman in a sexual harassment suit she’d filed against Benjamin Wey, the owner of a venture capital and private equity firm. So reports NBC News.

The jury awarded the woman, 25-year-old Hanna Bouveng, compensatory damages and punitive damages on sexual harassment, retaliation and defamation claims. Bouveng’s suit alleged that, while she was employed at Wey’s New York Global Group, Wey coerced her into sexual encounters before eventually learning that she had a boyfriend and firing her. Bouveng also claimed that Wey said disparaging things about her on his blog.
