Employee Sues Southwest Airlines Over Husband’s In-Flight Death

A Southwest Airlines flight attendant has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her employer, alleging attendants should have acted to save her husband’s life when he suffered a pulmonary embolism on his flight home from a trip. So reports CBS News.

Airline employees reported having heard the flight attendant’s husband, a high-profile financial analyst named Richard Ilczyszyn, groaning from the plane’s restroom. A crew member reported pushing the restroom door slightly open and seeing Ilczyszyn slumped over and crying.

The airline says that its employees mistook the situation for a security risk. A call to the local sheriff's department resulted in officers evacuating the plane before opening the bathroom door.
