Is Calif. 'Microstamping’ Law a De Facto Handgun Ban?

Gun groups claim California’s requirement to make handgun bullets traceable with “microstamps” is unworkable and would ultimately violate Second Amendment rights by preventing gun manufacturers from selling their now-illegal weapons, according to a federal lawsuit. So reports Fox News.

Others contest the microstamping technique may help solve gun-related crimes and would be a big boost for law enforcement. The law was signed by former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007 and took effect in 2013.
