Families of Women Switched at Birth Clean Up in French Court

Two women mistakenly switched at birth in 1994 will collect 400,000 euros (approximately $451,760) each from the private clinic in France responsible for the mix up. So reports The New York Daily News.

The women’s families filed the lawsuit that resulted in the award in a court in Grasse, France, in 2010, a few years after a paternity test revealed that one of the girls wasn’t the biological relation of the family with whom she resided. The clinic and an insurance company will also pay 300,000 euros ($339,500) to each of three parents involved in the case and 60,000 ($67,900) euros to each of three siblings.
