Obama Shortens Prison Term Protracted by Typo

President Obama shortened the sentence of a convicted drug dealer who would otherwise have been destined to serve a 15-year prison term. So reports the Associated Press.

This was only the tenth time President Obama has used his power to commute the sentence of a federal inmate.

The sentence was shortened to 11 1/2 years, which should have been the sentence but the defense lawyer’s failure to object to an error in the convict’s pre-sentencing report.
