Mass. Makes It Illegal to Sneak 'Upskirt' Pics

Massachusetts lawmakers last week criminalized “upskirting,” the practice of photographing or recording video of a person’s private parts under or around that person’s clothing, such as down a blouse or up a skirt. So reports CNN.

Perpetrators face up to two-and-a-half years in jail, or a fine of up to $5,000. The legislation was a response to the Bay State’s highest court’s dismissal of a case against a trolley rider who used his cell phone to take pictures up the skirts of fellow passengers. The dismissal was based on the court’s holding that existing Massachusetts laws didn’t apply to such situations.
