Man Claims Wal-Mart Purchase Killed His Wife

A Nebraska widower has filed a wrongful death suit against Wal-Mart and the maker of its plastic bags after his wife allegedly died from complications related to an infection she developed after she cut her big toe on a can of food she had just purchased the retailer. So the Journal Star reports.

The lawsuit claims that the 42-ounce can broke through the single plastic shopping bag the store's cashier gave the plaintiff's wife to carry some heavy groceries. The suit alleges that Wal-Mart provided a defective grocery bag and was negligent for failing to properly train its employees.
