Chicago Firm Plays Week-Long Practical Joke on Summer Associates

As an icebreaker intended to give its summer associates something to bond over and discuss after hours, a 22-attorney firm in Chicago hired an actor to work and mingle among the law students summering at the firm as a fellow new hire. So reports the ABA Journal.

 

In the week he spent in the firm's employ, the actor explained to the associates that they never see him doing any work because he hired an out-of-work attorney to do it for "20 bucks an hour" and had his "girlfriend" visit the firm's offices and obnoxiously take photographs of the work that was being performed there. The firm revealed the prank and the actor’s true identity in a video that was played at a party on the Friday after the summer associates started work.
