A nine-member federal jury found Katy Perry’s 2013 song “Dark Horse” ripped off the Christian Rap Song “Joyful Noise.” So reports CNBC.

The Christian track was written by Marcus Gray and two co-authors. Gray’s attorneys said “the beat and instrumental line in 'Joyful Noise' are substantially similar to what is heard through almost half of 'Dark Horse.' Perry’s attorneys countered, unsuccessfully, the song’s elements represent basic building blocks in music and the verdict sets a bad precedent.
