Chinese Lawyer Being Detained Unlawfully: U.N. Working Group

Yu Wensheng, a Chinese lawyer who has been held for more than 16 months and has not had a trial, is being held illegally, according to a United Nations watchdog. So reports Reuters.

The U.N. working group on arbitrary detention, which issued the opinion, is comprised of “five independent experts.” Yu, a human rights lawyer, was arrested for “inciting subversion."
