Kentucky Bill to Ban Abortion Passes House

Republican Rep. Joe Fischer, a Kentucky lawmaker, is pushing a bill to outlaw abortion should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling making it legal. So reports the Courier Journal.

The bill passed the House and is headed to the Senate. House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins, a gubernatorial candidate and a Democrat, voted in favor of the legislation.

The bill is called a "trigger law" as it only takes effect upon the Supreme Court reversing its stance on terminating a pregnancy.
