Motel 6 to Pay $9M Settlement for Giving List of Latino Guests to Feds

At least one person was deported as a result of Motel 6 giving the names of its Latino guests to federal authorities. So reports The Dallas Morning News.

As a result of a lawsuit regarding the practice, the motel chain will pay a settlement of close to $9 million. The lawsuit was filed by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in addition to another law firm. Motel 6 has since prohibited the practice.
