Convicted Bond Trader May Face 3rd Trial After DOJ Misstep

Former Connecticut bond trader Jesse Litvak saw his fraud conviction overturned for the second time in three years after an apparent misstep by the Justice Department, according to a U.S. appellate judge. So reports The New York Post.

The judge said a witness's testimony may have unduly tainted jurors. Litvak was convicted of fraud for lying about bond prices in order to inflate the costs, ultimately benefiting his clients. The judge said the decision does not mean Litvak did not commit a crime and it does not rule out a third trial.
