Family Dollar Settles with Women Managers for Pay Disparity 15+ Years Ago

Retailer Family Dollar agreed to pay $45 million after it was accused of favoring male store managers more than 15 years ago. So reports USA Today.

The gender bias lawsuit was settled after 37,000 female managers claimed they were paid less to do the same job, a practice they argued violates the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and Civil Rights Act of 1964. Family Dollar denied wrongdoing and said it treated all employees fairly with respect to salaries.
