Prince’s Family Seeks Documents As Statute of Limitations Nears

Siblings of late musician Prince will be allowed to review materials related to his death in order to determine if they would like to pursue civil litigation. So reports The New York Daily News.

The information must be kept confidential according to the agreement awaiting a judge’s formal approval. Prince’s siblings sought the medical examiner’s report in order to help make a determination on whether to pursue civil action as the statute of limitations could be two years in certain instances. Prince reportedly died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid far more powerful than heroin.
