Pepe the Frog Creator Says InfoWars Has Highjacked Image

Matt Furie, the California-based cartoonist who created Pepe the Frog, is suing the website InfoWars for copyright infringement. So reports Time.

Furie is suing the conspiracy-theory site for selling posters featuring Pepe, alleging the frog's image was used without authorization. The frog is pictured alongside "right-wing" figures like President Trump, Milo Yiannopoulos and the site's founder, radio host Alex Jones. 

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Pepe was appropriated by the "alt-right" to "spread racist, sexist and anti-Semitic messages," the article reads.
