Judge Issues Rule Urging Women Lawyers to Take the Lead  

A senior federal judge in New York issued a rare court rule “urging” a more prominent role for female lawyers. So reports The New York Times.

Judge Jack B. Weinstein has pushed for young women and minorities to have a larger role in the courts before, but he codified the guidance after the New York State Bar Association issued a report highlighting the courtroom gender gap.

Across New York state, women were lead on only 25% of cases while making up around half of Law School graduates since the early 1990’s. Only around 20 other federal judged have issued similar rules.
