Fla. Pols Shift Burden of Proof in ‘Stand Your Ground’ Law  

Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed an amendment to the state's 'stand your ground' law, shifting the burden of proof onto prosecutors, who now must show force was used unlawfully in cases when a SYG hearing is requested. So reports Reuters.

Previously, the burden of proof in the pretrial hearings was on defendants, who were required to prove force was used in self-defense. The legislation was signed along with a number of other measures during a special session of the state legislature and it was largely "passed by party-line vote," the article reads.
