WrkRiot CEO Charged for Pretending to Pay Employees

Isaac Choi, founder and CEO of the job search platform WrkRiot, was charged with five counts of wire fraud after allegedly tricking employees to join his company, then pretending to pay them. So reports Newsweek.

Choi was said to have lied about his professional, educational and financial background and enticing employees to continue working by providing them forged documents indicating payment for their efforts.

Choi misled employees about investing his own money in the company and doctored wire transfer confirmations to make it appear as if the employees had been paid.
