If the settlement is approved, customers will be eligible to apply for a refund. The case stems from an investigation from The Wall Street Journal into The Honest Company. The company said its products were free of sodium lauryl sulfate, and instead contained the “gentler” sodium coco sulfate. However, lauryl sulfate is a component of coco sulfate.
The company has agreed to reformulate its cleaning products so they no longer use either chemical. The Honest Company denied any wrongdoing.
