Jury Suggest Charges After Man Dies of Dehydration in Jail

Prison staffers who allegedly denied Terrill Thomas, of Milwaukee, water for seven days before his eventual death are expected to face charges. So reports The New York Daily News.

Thomas’ family said those responsible for his death should be charged with homicide. Thomas was arrested in a shooting case last April.

Jurors recommended five corrections officers and two supervisors face charges after the water in Thomas cell was turned off. “Evidence presented at the inquest shows that the water was turned off after Thomas, who was bipolar, tried to use a mattress to flood his cell. However, there was never a log made about the stoppage,” according to information from the article.
