The bill would also require the vice president, governor, the state's U.S. senators, lieutenant governor, state attorney general and comptroller’s tax returns to be disclosed. The bill would apply to state tax returns alone, not federal returns under the IRS' purview and private under U.S. law. Current state law makes it illegal to divulge "particulars" from tax returns filed with New York State.

Proposal Would Mandate Trump Disclose Taxes
New York State legislators David Buchwald and Brad Hoylman proposed a bill to require the state Department of Taxation and Finance to release five years of returns for certain elected officials who file in the state, including the President. So reports the Poughkeepsie Journal.
