$5.3M iOS Privacy Settlement Averages 53 Cents Per User  

Yelp, Foursquare and Instagram are among several apps that agreed to a $5.3 million settlement for allegedly accessing iOS users address books without their knowledge. So reports Ars Technica.

Lawyers in the suit stand to make $1.59 million with the rest to be split among an estimated 7 million users. If split evenly, that amounts to $0.53 per user. Foodspotting, Foursquare, Gowalla, Instagram, Kik, Path, Twitter, and Yelp will split the settlement, if approved.

A lawsuit regarding Apple's potential involvement is still pending.
