Sex Toy Manufacturer, Plaintiffs Settle Over Data Collected from Vibrator

Standard Innovation agreed to pay owners of its We-Vibe Bluetooth enabled vibrator for collecting information about the users without their consent. So reports The Sacramento Bee.

The class action suit was settled in Illinois federal court. Those who own the device will be eligible for up to $199, and those who downloaded the companion app, which allows “long-distance lovers” to control the device remotely with a smart phone, may collect up to $10,000.

Standard Innovation denied wrongdoing and maintained the data collection practices complied with law, but agreed to toss the data it collected from those using the app, the article reads.
