Alabama Gov. Bentley Faces Impeachment for Alleged Affair

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley could face impeachment after the state House Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee began deliberating how to proceed amid accusations Bentley cheated on his now-ex-wife Dianne. So reports NBC News.

The Attorney General's Office is also pursuing a criminal investigation into Bentley after allegations he engaged in an affair with a former advisor. Bentley denied the affair with advisor Rebekah Caldwell Mason and denied taking retribution on the police officer who outed the alleged tryst.

Almost two dozen House representatives signed impeachment articles “accusing the governor of corruption and neglect of duty,” the report reads.
