Burton filed the suit against Carrey in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Burton alleges Carrey obtained the drugs for White illegally under the name “Arthur King,” despite knowing she struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts. Carey said that instead of going into “a back room with this man’s lawyer” to quickly make the matter disappear, he instead will “stand up … against the evil in this world.”
