Guilty Plea from Man Who Beheaded Coworker Denied by Judge

Cleveland County, Okla., District Judge Lori Walkley has refused the guilty plea of Alton Nolen, accused of beheading a coworker in 2014.

Instead, Nolen, who asked for the death penalty, will have another mental evaluation. So reports the Associated Press. Nolen is charged with first-degree murder after allegedly beheading Colleen Hufford, and is also accused of stabbing another coworker.

Nolen was suspended from the food processing plant he worked at for making racially charged remarks prior to the incident. The victim’s family expressed disappointment Nolen has not yet been sentenced to death.
