The Law School Admission Council notes that there were just 30,000 law school applicants in the fall, a 20% drop from last year and 38% below 2010. The net result could be serious soul searching from law schools, as some consider layoffs, reduced tuition and buyouts of staff to cope with the drop. Others may be forced to close altogether.
