Judge Sexually Preyed on Male Defendants in His Court: Accusation

An Arkansas judge has resigned after allegations surfaced that he used his position to prey on men who were charged with crimes and were afraid they would lose their children or job. He also is accused of preying on those who needed financial assistance. So reports the Associated Press.

Part-time Cross County District Judge Joe Boeckmann stepped down after the state judicial commission confronted him with allegations he sexually took advantage of men with business before the court, including one instance involving photographs and handcuffs.

Boeckmann was said to have offered lighter sentences for those willing to engage in sexual relations. He has not been charged with a crime.
