Cravath Swaine & Moore Victims of Data Breach

Representatives of New York law firm Cravath Swaine & Moore admitted to being victim to a “limited breach” of their computer network. So reports The New York Times.

The law firm released a statement that said the breach happened last summer, but it is unaware of any information that may have been stolen and used improperly. Authorities that investigate data breaches at law firms focus on whether the information could be useful for stock trading.

A recent report from Citigroup relating to data breaches criticized large firms for refusing to discuss breaches and noted in most cases law firms are not obligated to publicly report a breach.
