Teen Gets 10-20 After Planning to Kill Family

Roksana Sikorski, a 17-year-old girl from a suburb of Detroit, was found guilty of crafting a plot to kill her family when she was 15. So reports NBC.

She was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison after being tried as an adult for charges including conspiracy to commit murder and assault with intent to murder. Her boyfriend at the time Michael Rivera, who she communicated with during the incident and is eight years her senior, is now serving a lifetime prison sentence for attempted murder and conspiracy.

Text messages shared between the two on the night of the incident indicate the details of the plot that included killing her parents and siblings. Sikorski had slashed her brother’s neck, although he survived, and she was spooked when her sister and brother began to scream.

Several text messages indicated Sikorski at some point during the incident began to get cold feet. Her parents, who adopted her from an abusive family in Poland, expressed regret that she was tried as an adult and is being sent to prison.
