Alaburda claimed the school reported a higher number of graduates found work than actually did, and she relied on those misleading stats when choosing to attend the school. Alaburda has more than $150,000 in debt and cannot find a full-time, salaried job as a lawyer, according to the article.
Alaburda’s lawyer argues that the school “did not reveal that its employment figures included such work as a pool cleaner, waitress or sales clerk, and that they were based on a small sample of graduates.” Prior to this case, around 15 other similar suits were “derailed” before reacihng a jury.
