Man Accused of Imprisoning Prostitute in Queens

A woman imprisoned in her pimp’s family’s basement in Queens, N.Y. called 911 in a desperate attempt at freedom, prosecutors say. So reports The New York Daily News.

Dayshawn Preston, 20, allegedly beat and starved the 19-year-old woman after she failed to earn $500 a night as a prostitute. She managed to call emergency services using Preston’s cell phone, which she grabbed and ran with after Preston dropped it.
