A judge in Rutherford County, Tenn., has written a notice to female lawyers reminding them to dress professionally when they appear in court, according to The Tennessean.

The member of the bench, Circuit Judge Royce Taylor, said that he has received a number of attire complaints from attorneys in the county, and that female lawyers' inappropriate clothing choices were a major discussion point at last month’s local Bar and Bench Committee. He plans to offer specific recommendations—like jackets with sleeves below the elbows—in a future newsletter that will be distributed to all members of the Rutherford County Bar.
