Court to Judge: Ditch Comedy Career or Step Down

A unanimous decision by New Jersey's highest court last week forced New Jersey municipal court judge Vince Sicari to choose between his seat on the bench and his place in the spotlight as a comedian and actor. He chose the latter. So reports ABCNews.com.

 

Sicari earned only about $13,000 a year with no benefits as a judge who oversaw traffic tickets and misdemeanor crimes. He refrained from lawyer jokes in his act in an effort to keep his two worlds separate, but the court expressed concern over the public's ability or inability to separate Sicari's position as a judge from the roles he's played as a racist and a homophobe on ABC's hidden-camera show "What Would You Do?"
